Meet the Team
Melissa Spurr
Managing Partner
Melissa started her practice in Finance at an international law firm based in New York City. She then went in-house to serve as counsel for a privately held multinational hospitality business based in New Jersey. She went into private practice with a firm based in New Jersey.
In 2023, Melissa founded Spurr Law, located in Summit, New Jersey. Her goal is to bring her years of experience in various business planning, contracting, tax, and employment situations to help her clients develop best practices in conflict prevention and resolution, and avoid costly litigation.

Melissa is also a wife, mother of 2 girls, and engaged community volunteer. She is a Trustee of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation and sits on the Summit Downtown Inc. Design & Beautification Committee. She volunteers at both her daughters' schools. She has previously served on the City of Summit Historic Preservation Commission, the City of Summit Environmental Commission, a co-founder of Green Summit, and Past President of the Reeves-Reed Arboretum.
Eugene Kim
Senior Associate
Eugene is an accomplished business attorney, providing thoughtful and savvy counsel to businesses, nonprofits, and individuals on matters such as entity formation, governance, buy-sell, contracting, 501(c)(3) compliance, employment, supplier and distributor relationships, and intellectual property protection, including trademarks and copyrights. He has had extensive experience representing clients in litigation in both state and federal courts. Eugene’s practice has included representation across several industries, including real estate, construction, insurance, health care, finance, telecommunications, and intellectual property. This background is an asset for Spurr Law clients, both in conflict prevention and strategic positioning for resolution.

Eugene is also a husband and father of 3 boys. He has extensive volunteer experience in the field of North Korean human rights and has served as a church translator for Burundian and Ugandan immigrants in South Korea. He is an enthusiastic baseball fan, having played extensively while growing up, and, as an alumnus, a fan of all things University of Michigan sports.
